From the Santo Domingo Pueblo, known for creating beautiful shell and gemstone beads by hand. These beads are called “heishi,” which means “shell”. Heishi necklaces are the oldest form of jewelry in New Mexico Arizona, USA.

 

Stabilized Turquoise from the Kingman Mine of northwestern Arizona, USA. Within the Kingman Mine there have been discovered ancient Navajo tools used to extract, polish and finish turquoise stones. The tools have been dated back to 600A.D., today approximately ninety - seven percent of the stones mined from Kingman AZ must be stabilized for jewelry making.
