What does this Zia Symbol Mean?
This is a sacred symbol of the Zia People one of the 19 Pueblo Native American Tribes of New Mexico, USA. The number four repressents the cycle and stages of life, the seasons and the phases of the day. Each of the four rays symbolize the four directions, each direction corresponds with an element of nature and virtue. Together these signify the Zia's connection to nature and regard for the natrual world and provide a sort of guide for personal and communal well being.
